The Sun-Chiron quincunx works more subtly than a square or opposition. It is not always felt as an obvious war with oneself, but it creates a repeating inner glitch: an opportunity appears, the person is almost ready to show themselves, and suddenly doubt, awkwardness, fear of looking strange, ridiculous, or unprepared turns on. Fate seems to periodically open a door to visibility, creativity, recognition, or an unusual role, but what blocks the passage is not an outer wall, but subtle inner resistance.
