The opposition of Neptune and Lilith creates strong tension between dream and truth, compassion and temptation, spiritual search and self-deception. Neptune pulls toward an ideal, beauty, merging, faith, music, image, and subtle meaning. Lilith shows where this ideal may become a trap: the person either deceives themselves or meets people who use their trust, fantasy, pity, or desire for a miracle.
This aspect often works through projections. The native may see another person as a savior, muse, victim, saint, genius, secret enemy, or source of a fated sign. Later it turns out that the image was stronger than reality. Sometimes the opposite happens: others see in the native something they are not. They may idealize, suspect, accuse, attribute nonexistent qualities, or expect the impossible from them.
