The Moon-Mercury quincunx shows a repeated mismatch between emotional reaction and the way a person thinks, speaks, explains. The Moon describes feeling, memory, habit, bodily safety, family intonation. Mercury describes words, analysis, logic, information exchange. In a quincunx they do not fight openly as in a square, but they constantly require adjustment: the person may explain too quickly what they have not yet had time to feel, or react too emotionally to words that were not meant as an attack.
