The Moon-Mars quincunx does not work as directly as a square or opposition. Here tension often repeats in strange cycles: the person seems to have already understood that they do not want to quarrel, provoke, flare up, or enter painful relationships, yet similar situations return. The Moon wants warmth, safety, acceptance. Mars raises anger, the desire to act, defend, attack, prove. The quincunx requires fine tuning between these forces, because the habitual reaction often turns out inappropriate.
